Kokomo Semiconductors maintains a TS16949 certification, the automotive standard developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) in conjunction with the International Standards Organization (ISO). The TS requirements go beyond the ISO 9000 concept of “Say what you do and do what you say”, to lay out specific requirements for a company’s quality management system that must provide for continuous improvement, emphasize defect prevention and reduce variation and waste in the supply chain. In addition to the standard TS16949 requirements set forth for all automotive suppliers, Kokomo Semiconductors also meets the standards set forth in the TS16949 Semiconductor Supplement for automotive grade semiconductor suppliers. Our quality systems are audited and evaluated annually by external auditors to ensure that we continue to meet TS16949 requirements.
Our site is also certified to the ISO14001 environmental management system standard. Certification requires an environmental management standard in accordance with the defined internationally recognized standards set forth by the specification. Additionally, Kokomo Semiconductors achieved zero landfill status in 2010, and in pursuing our environmental policy of continuous improvement, obeying the law, and preventing pollution (COP), demonstrates itself to be an environmentally conscious company, as well.
